Chartered Financial Planner

James has been a financial planner since 1991 and has built significant experience in personal and corporate financial planning working for some of the main names in finance.

James holds the highest qualification as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and was in the very first group of advisers to achieve Chartered Financial Planner status.

James set up Achieve Financial Planning Ltd in 2009 and it has been authorised since early 2010.

Away from work James keeps busy going to the gym, fitness classes, cycling, watching football, and doing the inescapable chores and DIY around his home.

James is working through his bucket list, seeing the world and completing long distance walks such as the West Highland Way, St Cuthbert Way, Coast to Coast & Pennine Way to name a few.

Bruce Paterson DipPFS

Financial Planner

Bruce grew up in Inverness, spent 4 years living and studying in Aberdeen before moving back home in 2018. Gaining an MA in Philosophy from The University of Aberdeen, he joined the Achieve team in September 2018.

Bruce holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. He is now working towards Chartered Status.

When Bruce is not working he likes cycling, walking and spending time with his girlfriend.

Daniel McLeod

Daniel joined the Achieve team in January 2022.

Daniel achieved a BA (Hons) in Business Management with Marketing from the University of the Highlands & Islands in 2019.

Away from work Daniel enjoys football, running, and socialising with his friends.

Khadijah Rasul

Khadijah joined the team in August 2025.

She achieved a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Aberdeen in 2024.

Emma Gault

Emma Joined the Achieve team in November 2025.

She achieved a degree in Psycology from the University of Dundee in 2023.
