Shaun Smith

Hi, my name’s Shaun Smith. I’ve been a client of Achieve for around three and a half years, although I’ve known James much longer, and James is my contact at Achieve.

When I first met James, it was about trying to understand my needs, my wife’s needs, and ultimately, my family’s needs. We had a really good conversation as to how that would pan out over the next few years.

I first heard of Achieve from my existing financial planner, who was retiring. I knew James from the past, and we were introduced by my existing provider.

I decided to go with James because he put me at ease and helped me understand the difference between what I required, including my pension and potential risks, and future aspirations for my investments.

Working with James puts me at ease. Obviously, there’s a lot of uncertainty in the markets at times, and James really helps me get the balance right between growing my investments and minimising my risk; that’s what really helps me.

I feel much better with my future investments knowing that James is helping me understand the balance between investment growth, risk management, and plans for my family’s future.

The three words that I would use to describe James are professional, calm, and understanding.

The best thing for me about working with James is that it takes away the worry, so I’m not worried about my investments; I allow James and his team to do the worrying for me!

The best piece of advice I’ve had from James was, “It’s a long-term investment, don’t look at the investment every day.”
